Staffordshire residents needed to visit Police custody

Could you volunteer your time to check on the wellbeing of people being detained in a Police custody?

We're looking for people who live or work in Staffordshire to become part of our team of Independent Custody Visitors.

The role involves:

Carrying out custody visits to check on the conditions in which a detainee is kept, their health and wellbeing and their legal rights and entitlements

Discussing with the custody officer any concerns and requests arising from the custody visit

Highlighting to Custody Officers any concerns, requests or issues that needs to be dealt with

Completing and distributing a report form after each visit
